It is also home to he Yorkshire three peaks, the mountains of Whernside (736 m), Ingleborough (723 m) and Pen-y-ghent (694 m), ascending each year in the famous Three Peak Challenge.
There are many beautiful market towns in the area, which make perfect bases for exploring the region, including Sedbergh and Settle
