Welcome to The Old Vicarage

This is a large period, farm-house style property set in its own grounds in a peaceful rural location at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, offering luxurious yet comfortable accommodation. Each room is beautifully furnished and the large sash windows offer uninterrupted views of open countryside, the river, wooded hillsides and massive horizons.

Guests also have exclusive use of the owner's private swimming pool, sauna, gym, Jacuzzi and tennis court.The facilities, which have to be seen to be appreciated, are housed in beautifully converted farm buildings a few minutes walk from the property and boast a large, heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and fully equipped gymnasium, which includes table tennis and table football. There is also a full-sized, all-weather tennis court, which guests are welcome to enjoy. Right next to The Old Vicarage itself is a stylish converted outbuilding which houses a full-size pool table - ideal for the kids (and grown-ups!) to get some chill-out time away from the main house.

Each year the property has received a 5-star gold rating from VisitEngland - the highest award possible under this national quality assessment scheme - since re-opening under its present ownership in 2010.

Indoors

Central to the property is a large hallway with polished wooden floors and beautiful staircase. Downstairs includes a generous living room furnished with two large comfortable sofas - perfect to sink into in front of the log-burning stove. The dining room is a good size but still feels cosy enough for all occasions, be it a large dinner party or a romantic meal for two. A small, cosy snug area can also be found on the ground floor providing a lovely quiet space ideal for reading, writing or making the most of our Wi-fi facilities. The kitchen has all the usual mod cons but retains a genuine country feel with its large wooden table, hand-painted units and solid wooden worktops.
One of the striking features of the property is the eclectic mix of artwork displayed on its walls. You will find a wide variety of styles, including paintings from local artists.
Upstairs there are five bedrooms, each one furnished and decorated to give them their own unmistakable character. Soft pastel walls, comfortable linens and colourful throws all add to their homely comfort. There are three spacious doubles plus a twin and a single room offering varied and plentiful space for small parties, families and groups.
The Old Vicarage is very well catered for with three first floor bathrooms and a large downstairs cloakroom with toilet and hand basin. The largest bathroom is beautifully presented with a Victorian-style bath, hand basin, toilet and bidet. It has the added benefit of under floor heating for a particularly cosy feel. There are also two further bathrooms with large walk-in showers.

Outdoors

The Old Vicarage is surrounded by fields and stands in its own spacious gardens, which provide a heavenly place to sit and relax. If the weather permits, then there is also plenty of room to barbeque and there is enough space for children to kick around with a ball.
Beyond the gardens are flowering meadows and visitors have direct access to private river frontage below the property - perfect for trying your hand at fishing, enjoying a picnic or skimming stones. There is an abundance of wildlife and otters have been seen playing in the water.
