The Lake District Wildlife Park near Keswick is set in acres of breath taking scenery and features rare and often endangered wildlife plus domestic rare breed favourites.

With an A to Z of animals you’ll discover over 100 species from across the globe. The visitor top ten poll includes Mandrills, Meerkats, Micro Pigs and the loveable Lar Gibbons who swing through the trees. Meet Meili the Red Panda –spot her coming down for treats or see the tiny tortoise tots just hatched and already TV stars.

Listen and learn – there are excellent Keeper Talks throughout the day, giving you an insight to the character of the animals and their natural habitats. Tapir Talks, Reptile Encounters, Lemur feeding and plenty more  plus the renowned Bird of Prey Flying displays where birds swoop close to the audience.

Stay warm - there’s plenty of space indoors, a cosy animal encounter room and an indoor heated play area. Refuel with home cooked food in the café or use the covered picnic area.

Magical hour long encounters include Meet the Meerkats – everyone loves a Meerkat!  Lemur Encounters – they’re inquisitive, getting up close and personal. Hawk Walks - fly a Bird of Prey around the estate –described by the Guardian as ‘a life highlight’. Keeper Experience lets you groom Tapirs, then feed Meerkats and lemurs. Children over 8 love it, and so do adults! Pre-bookable experiences £35 per person, includes full day at the park.
