Gosforth Pottery in West Cumbria is lots for pots, with a great range of potting activities for all the family to enjoy.
We have a Pottery Shop where you can come and see lots of pots – there’s a great selection of hand-thrown pottery, ceramics, gifts and souvenirs, including our own pots and pictures based on the local Lake District views (great for holiday presents).
We make our own pots here in our studio and why not ‘Have a go - Throw a Pot!’ yourself on the potter’s wheel – just book a lesson and learn a new skill.
Come and enjoy ‘Paint a Pot’ with a great range of ceramic plates, mugs, animal shapes and ornaments for you to paint and decorate in your own designs – if you are looking for something to do with children it’s a fun way to spend an afternoon for everyone young or old!
Throughout the year we run Residential Pottery Courses for all ages – stay with us for a week or weekend and learn how to throw a pot and make handbuilt pottery in the inspiring and relaxing surroundings of the Lake District.
We have 2 Lake District Holiday Houses – self-catering accommodation for up to 11 people - so you can easily visit the Lake District and enjoy walking and the local attractions in the Western Lakes – there are lots of things to do in West Cumbria!
