One of the largest and best preserved neolithic sites in Wales
Pentre Ifan is one of the most spectacular and famous monuments of its type. This Neolithic site consists of a tilted capstone perched on three uprights. A blocking stone obstructs the doorway and a semi-circular forecourt is found at the southern end. Originally covered by a huge long mound - traces of possible kerbstones can still be found on site. The site is just 4 miles from Newport, in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
