Party Like A Rock Star! 

Since 1978, Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield has been one of the most prestigious recording studios in the world. Artists include Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Robert Plant, Simple Minds, Nigel Kennedy, Oasis and Sir Tom Jones. The studio's famous cartwheel doors provided the backdrop for the cover of Oasis' debut single 'Supersonic' - widely regarded as the track which launched Britpop in the 1990s.

Now available as a Big House Holiday Let, this famous rock 'n' roll retreat offers your family and friends the chance to stay in the same rooms as these musical icons and dine and party in the huge soundproofed Studio Room fully equipped with disco lighting and a built in speaker system ready for you to plug in your own music. The house contains much memorabilia and photos of artists who have been at the studio over the years.

Refurbished in 2020, the Studio provides your party with a brand new kitchen including everything you need for entertaining, 11 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms (7 en-suite) sleeping up to 24 people. Two en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor with separate access and are suitable for those with limited mobility.

The main lounge, with an adjoining snug, features a large TV with Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime and a log burner. Fibre broadband is available throughout the property. The studio control room, which once housed the mixing desk used by John Lennon in New York, is now the Games and Cinema Room where you can relax playing pool, darts, table tennis and computer games, or watch a movie.

The dining room is situated in the glass end of the studio, with its floor to ceiling glass walls, vaulted ceiling and hand carved stone pillars, it allows your party to dine while enjoying 270 degree views of the River Monnow and surrounding countryside.

Outside is a large patio area with sofas, tables and a Jacuzzi hot tub. The house is bordered on one side by the River Monnow and is surrounded on the other three by mature gardens and trees offering complete privacy. There is ample parking for 16 cars.

The house is situated 300m down a private lane giving you peace and tranquillity should you prefer a more relaxing break. There are numerous public footpaths on the doorstep for hiking and the property is just outside what was once the perimeter of the ancestral home of Charles Rolls (founder of Rolls Royce) which now houses The Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club, a short drive away.

Just 2.5 miles outside the picturesque market town of Monmouth, the studio is in the delivery area for several supermarkets and takeaway services.

The owners live nearby so are on site for any queries during your stay. Studio owner Jo, who has worked in the music industry for 30 years, can regale your party with stories of the times she worked with Richard Branson, Simon Cowell, toured with Nirvana, house shared with Peter Andre, and lived with artists at the studio for two decades.

Please note that the site is unfenced and on a river bank so pets (if allowed) and young children must be supervised at all times.
