About the Apartment

On top of a little taupe colored stairway, I radiate with sunlight. I am situated in the converted attic, with fantastic old beams painted in white. From my window you can see the well know church of Montfort L’Amauy and the ruins of the Anne de Bretagne castle. At night I am so romantic. I have an eating type bar for a table, with a kitchenette entirely equipped with the latest appliances. My bathroom also has a lovely skylight. I am independent from the main house, and one could so easily imagine Colette, the writer, with her cat, sitting in my comfortable space.

La Moutière is not only a self catering appartment in a restored 18th century “auberge”, La Moutière has its own very particular story.
La Moutière has gone through time bathed by the memory of its glorious past. Famous lovers, artists and personalities known throughout the world came to dine & rest within its precious old walls.
Amongst these legendary guests were : Yves Montant & Simone Signoret, Ava Gardner, the Shah, Jean Cocteau, Princess Grace of Monaco, Orson Wells & even queen Elisabeth!
La Moutière has been retored and decorated with both a modern, yet romantic touch. The “ambiance” and authenticity of its singular past remains.
Harmony of colors, materials & aromas make breakfast in the open sky patio unlike any other one.
La Moutière is also a legendary garden filled with rose bushes, mint & herbs, lilacs and many assortments of flowered bushes.
