Kite Hill Yurts in Wales Eco Friendly Luxury Campsite for romantic breaks in Builth Wells, Powys, Wales
Beautiful hillside yurts in the Welsh Borders. Enjoy the luxury of our small, two-yurts site, surrounded by some of the most beautiful views in Britain.
Kite Hill Yurts is set on a hillside in Powys with magnificent views of the Black Mountains and surrounding countryside.
Hovering above the Wye Valley, situated on the long distance Wye Valley Walk and adjoining a 5000 acre moorland it is the perfect getaway for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and those who enjoy the great outdoors.
Our traditional Mongolian yurts are situated in a hay meadow on our 11 acre smallholding.
Each yurt sleeps up to 4/5 people so is ideal for individuals, couples or small families although we do take ‘chilled out’ adult groups if both yurts are booked.
Our yurts, Skylark and Curlew are both traditional Mongolian yurts lined with a felt layer for extra cosiness. They are about 19 foot in diameter and sleep up to four people each, giving you room to spread out. If you are a family of five and wish to stay with us an extra bed can be provided.
Each yurt has a double bed made of reclaimed oak and a day bed with a pull out trundle. Comfy armchairs allow you to relax and enjoy the warmth of the wood burning stoves, whilst bathed in the glow of tea lights.
Outside, each yurt has its own deck with a picnic table and barbecue from which you can enjoy the stunning view towards the Black Mountains. Each yurt also has its own compost loo close by and a kitchenette.
The facilities are housed in ‘The Cabin’, a beautifully designed timber framed building made from locally sourced wood. It is situated amongst trees at the edge of the yurt field.
The yurts and facilities have been designed with luxury in mind while still giving you the wonderful feeling of being in the great outdoors.
Within easy travelling distance of the market towns of Builth Wells, Hay-on-Wye,Llandrindod Wells, Brecon and the Brecon Beacons National Park there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Canoeing, mountain biking, horseriding, wild swimming and clay-pigeon shooting are just a few of the activities on offer in the area.
Whichever direction you choose to strike out in you can be assured it will be the scenic route!
