Holiday Accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales, often simply called “the Dales”,  and crosses the counties of North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, and Cumbria.  The landscape is one of scenic river valleys and majestic hills, as well as moorland.

Due to the limestone rock formations underpinning the Yorkshire Dales, there are many impressive cave networks in the region, and it is one of the most popular areas for caving and  potholing in England. One of the most popular of these caves is Gaping Gill.

The Yorkshire Dales is also crossed by several long-distance walking trails, including the Coast to Coast Path, the Pennine Way, the Dales Way, and Pennine Bridleway.

It is also home to he Yorkshire three peaks, the mountains of Whernside (736 m), Ingleborough (723 m) and Pen-y-ghent (694 m), ascending each year in the famous Three Peak Challenge

There are many beautiful market towns in the area, which make perfect bases for exploring the region, including Sedbergh and Settle
