Glenridding
Glenridding is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District and Cumbria. It has a good range of holiday accommodation and is ideally placed next to the beautiful Ullswater, and Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag, Dollywaggon and many other fells.
Glenridding can be found at the foot of Kirkstone Pass at the southern end of Ullswater and just past Patterdale. It is the ideal place to explore the hills and lake, and a great start and end point for walking up Helvellyn

The village was built around the lead mine at Greenside, which is now the Helvellyn Youth Hostel. The mine closed in the 1950s, and the village now relies mainly on the tourists who come to view one of the most beautiful areas in the Lakes.
