Gleneagles
Gleneagles is a small village in a glen which connects with Glen Devon in Perthshire. The village is just one hour's drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. The village is home to Gleneagles Hotel, a 5 star world renowned resort. The hotel has three 18-hole championship courses, one was the former Scottish Open venue.
In 2014, the Gleneagles resort will host the Ryder Cup. Europe and the United Stated teams complete every two years for the the Ryder Cup.
Gleneagles and the surrounding areas offer activities such as grouse shooting, falconry, horse riding, 4x4 off-road driving and other Highlands pursuits. Fishing can be found near the Gleneagle estate.
